Net Direct vs Best Rate
As we hope you’re aware of, net direct rates are non-commissionable whereas best-rates are. What’s the difference? Well… Some properties, not all, offer a net-direct rate where the guest pre-pays for his stay in full, in advance and this money is nonrefundable. In exchange, this rate is slighty lower for the customer and is, unfortunately, non-commissionable for our affiliates. The good news is, most guests opt for our best available rate, which is commissionable, has more lenient rules for cancellations or changes to the stay and is not paid by the customer until consumption of the stay.
Many travelers prefer to pay at the hotel using our best rate guarantee and not risk saving a few dollars for a non-refundable stay.
